Kiwi Jam

It is true that here at LickYourPlates, we can make almost any fruit into a sugar-free jam.

Recently, we had a lot of kiwis which would have otherwise have gone off if they weren’t all used up or cooked quickly so, we took it upon ourselves to develop a recipe using them and that’s how this recipe was formed.

This furry fruit is a great source of folate (vitamin B-9) vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K, copper, fibre, manganese, potassium. It also contains calcium, iron, and omega-3 from the chia seeds making it, not just a delicious jam to have on toast or desserts, but a very healthy one too.

Without further ado, here’s our delicious green kiwi jam recipe!

Pizza Bianco

Vegans have been known for ordering or making pizza without cheese. How about pizza without tomato sauce? No, we are not suggesting you eat just dry pizza bread with vegetables. We are suggesting you go white with your pizza sauce.

Pizza Bianco is made using a white sauce in place of tomato sauce. Usually, this sauce tends to be soft, melted Italian cheeses, but of course, vegans can’t eat that. So, we have developed a white sauce for you so you don’t have to be deprived of a pizza bianco which is very delicious and relaxing to indulge in.

The pizza is topped with fresh, homemade seitan sausage slices, potatoes, rosemary, mushrooms, and onions. It’s pretty much, brunch on a pizza base!

We invite you to try out our latest pizza recipe.

What if we told you that the transition to veganism and maintenance of a vegan lifestyle could be made easier? Continue reading “Unboxed Vegan”

Marinated Mushrooms

This dish is, in fact, that which is featured on our homepage. It was a big hit amongst friends and family when we initially experimented with the recipe.

This marinated mushroom dish has a special ingredient which most might not have thought of. The flavours together are perfectly balanced and the result is a side which can go along with any dish, on its own as a light lunch or as a part of a sandwich.

We have looked forward to sharing this dish with you.

Vegan Banana Bread

Banana bread is one of the most delicious breads we have tasted. It is moist, it is delicious, it has a higher nutritional content than the conventional bread, contains over 50g of protein (per loaf) and it does not require a topping such as butter or jam.

This bread works well for breakfast, as a snack and as a dessert. It can be frozen for later consumption and it keeps in the fridge for about a week (although it might harden a little when lower than room temperature).

Our banana bread recipe is perfect for any day and anytime so, without further ado, here’s our recipe.
